Cody’s “Super Olaf” 4th birthday

Seems crazy that my “baby” is four.  This year Cody was having trouble choosing between Superman and Olaf (from Frozen), so we created “Super Olaf”.  The kids colored masks and used felt to create their own super hero ‘symbols’.  Our new superheroes then set off to save Olaf (scavenger hunt) and, while blindfolded, put him back together.  Finally, three brave adults volunteered to be turned into T.P. snowmen.  We ended the party with warm hugs on the couch while watching Frozen.

[And yes … I am slightly crazy and put capes on the dogs (including our neighbors) to pose them].

Happy Birthday big guy!

Lightning Fast …

Well, I couldn’t post Jake’s birthday and NOT post Cody’s … so out of order but better late then never 🙂

Whenever we have an indoor party I get worried the kids won’t have enough to do to entertain themselves.  So, I might have gotten a bit carried away with the available activities!  It was fun though, which, in the end, is all that matters!

Pretty obvious from the photos, but for Cody we did a “Cars” themed party.  Complete with games such as toss the tire, Piston Cup races, Docs fix-it garage (puzzles), Ramone’s Paint Shop (coloring books), Mater’s Tractor Tipping (bowling), and more.  To wrap up the party we put on Mater’s Tall Tales … the kids watched while the parents hung out and enjoyed a few cocktails (notice Chris hung with the kids … yep, I’m raising three kids in this house, ha ha).

Jake’s Adventure in Neverland

Five already!  We couldn’t choose between a pirate party, Peter Pan, and Jake and the Neverland Pirates, so we combined them all into a pirate themed Neverland adventure.  Our backyard became Neverland, complete with an Indian Camp, Mermaid Lagoon, Skull Rock, Jolly Roger, Shipwreck Beach, and of course Jake & the Neverland Pirate’s hideout.  There was a treasure hunt, plank walking, ring tossing, pretzel hooking, and of course swimming.

It brought a HUGE smile to my face when the following day Jake said to me, “Mommy, I just loved my birthday party!”.

Halloween 2013

Jake and the Neverland Pirates visit the Myles Crew!

Featuring Jake (the pirate), Cubby, Izzy, and Captain Hook.

A grand time was had by all. Now, someone please get this candy OUT OF THIS HOUSE 🙂

Happy Halloween 2013.

Happy Easter

Such a fun day filled with friends and family and lots of surprises from the Easter Bunny.

“Baby” Cody Turns 2

Yep, our littlest crew member officially enters the “terrible twos”! He is far from terrible though … at least 50% of the time anyway 🙂

Of course he will always be my baby (heck I’m nearly 40 and my dad still introduces me as “his baby”). Everyday I look at him (and Jake) and can’t believe how fast they are changing. I’m with them nearly every minute of every day and yet things move so quickly sometimes that I feel like I’m missing it all!

Happy Birthday Cody … don’t grow up too fast on us.

Myles Crew Grows

It is about time we got a little more girl power in this house! Introducing our new addition, Kona. She is a 10 month old lab-mix rescue dog. She is a bit wild but loving too, and the boys, especially Cody, are loving her.
